Company Information
Pay Rate
The minimum pay rate is $150 for a single public event performance. Performances for a private events are almost always more and can be as much as $250 depending on the drive, audience size, and other factors. The pay is stated in every event participation request. Performances often include a meal as well; usually the same meal the guests are served.
Rehearsals
There is minimal rehearsal ahead of the day of the show. Usually one or two rehearsals if there is anyone new to the cast of that particular show. There is also a run-thru in the green room just prior to the show and each subsequent scene is read between scenes. In most cases each actor’s line load is not heavy and not all characters are in every scene.
Improv
Actors may add improv during a show, provided it is not offensive or distracting from the event. But these shows are all script based, so actors should return to the material in a timely manner and say the cue lines to allow for the next actor to pick up. In general, the more relatable the script and actors can be to the audience, the more likely they will enjoy their dinner theatre experience. We want them engaged.
Travel
The majority of the shows take place in the Bay Area, yet some do require travel. Carpools are often available for actors.
Show Times / Availability
Most shows take place on weekend evenings; however, there are some that take place in the late morning or afternoon (on any day of the week). This picks up during the holiday season. Actors need not make themselves available for all time slots and we are understanding of any and all conflicts that would lead to actors turning down a request to perform in a show.
